Motherhood is a rank that equals every woman.
When I was young, I read this quote and I liked it. But until now, I hadn’t any inkling what it really meant.
Now, it’s clear to me. I believe that every woman is unique and they all become equal when they act as mothers. They touch their child, protect their daughters, and strengthen their sons all in the same essence – love.
Every one came from the womb of their mothers and this mysterious connection between mother and child is only known to mothers.
Mother’s day has gone by along with the sentiments, gifts, tributes, etc. Mothers now return to taking care of their children, rearing their kids to good citizens and persons, providing for the family. Some mothers wake up to feed their babies, some leave at dawn to start a living, some stay at home, some fight for their survival. They all have different stories but they share the same tears and joys – their family.
My mother has many stories to tell. And I could not express well how she went through it all just for us. She is a strong woman that’s for sure. Underneath it all, she is a fragile woman to me. I see her tears behind her smiles. And I feel her love behind everything she’s doing for us.
I know she knows how much I love her. I hope that someday, I could make all her dreams come true because she is the reason why my own dreams are within reach – she believes in me.
